20 Upcoming Film & TV Shows That Just Got Cancelled
6. Unnamed 2027 MCU Movie
Late last year Disney announced that The Simpsons Movie 2 would be releasing in 2027, and at the very same time pulled an unspecified MCU movie from their schedule.
The film, whatever it is, had been slated to release on July 23, 2027, following on from three other unnamed MCU movies being pulled last year, with dates initially set for February 13 and November 6 of this year, and another for November 7, 2027.
Sources have stated that the most recent cancellation wasn't the aforementioned Blade film, but beyond that fans have been left to speculate on the nixed project. Shang-Chi 2, perhaps?
Either way, its cancellation means that there will be a year-long gap between Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars without any other MCU movies in-between.
Given that Marvel Studios has been criticised for oversaturating audiences in the past, and there's a good argument to be made that Ant-Man and the Wasp and Captain Marvel were both awkwardly placed between Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, it might ultimately be for the best.
