20 Upcoming Film & TV Shows That Just Got Cancelled
18. Hawkeye
Marvel's Hawkeye series released in 2021 to high critical acclaim and solid viewing figures, enough that a second season seemed like a sure thing.
And even accepting that Jeremy Renner was sidelined for an entire year following his brutal 2023 snowplow accident, by the end of 2025 the murmured second season still hadn't made headway.
Though Renner initially revealed that he turned down Hawkeye season two after Disney offered him only half his prior salary to return, last September he again indicated his willingness to return - albeit presumably only if the numbers made sense to him.
But all hope for another batch of episodes was dashed recently when Wonder Man showrunner Andrew Guest, who was previously a consulting producer on Hawkeye, effectively confirmed that Hawkeye season two won't be happening, saying that despite a game attempt being made to bring it together, "the timing didn't work out."
While we're almost certain to see Renner and co-star Hailee Steinfeld again in either Avengers: Doomsday or Avengers: Secret Wars, we sadly won't be getting a miniseries follow-up focused on the duo.
