Chris Nolan 2017: 10 Movies He Might Direct Next

5. James Bond 25

Sam Mendes has two hugely financially successful James Bond films under his belt, in the shape of Skyfall and Spectre. In the event that he doesn€™t return to do the next one, though, few replacement directors would ignite audience interest as much as Christopher Nolan. "It would have to be the right situation and the right time in their cycle of things," Nolan told Empire Magazine on the topic of directing 007, around the time that The Dark Knight Rises was released. He€™s never ruled it out since then, either. Earlier this year, he told BBC Newsnight that Bond is €œa great franchise, and I grew up absolutely loving it", but noted that "they seem to be doing fine without me." When pressed, he admitted that his answer was "not a no, but it's not a yes". Interestingly, the Bond distribution rights are up for grabs after Spectre finishes its cinematic run. Perhaps Warner Bros, seemingly Nolan€™s firm home studio, could pick them up, and work with Nolan and MGM on the next Bond movie. Of course, that€™s just speculation at this stage. Wouldn€™t it be great, though?
