Comic Book vs Film: How Avengers: Infinity War Is Already Different

In The Comics:

The start of the Infinity War event sees the Avengers - or those remaining of them - picking up the pieces from Thanos' use of the Infinity Gauntlet. Spider-Man, Captain America, Hulk and SHIELD on Earth are the characters who notice the loss of half of existence primarily.

At this point in the comics, the Avengers are very much an active team (or two active teams, since the West Coast Avengers existed at this point). They're also mostly irrelevant to the story.

In The Film:

While they're very much the centre-point of the movie, The Avengers will begin the film broken apart by the events of Captain America: Civil War. They're split in two with several members forced into hiding and others simply retired (in the case of Ant-Man and Hawkeye).

Most interestingly, it appears we're going to get some influence from the Secret Avengers comic for the opening act as Black Widow and Captain America are apparently operating a black ops Avengers spin-off operation underground. They're stil fighting for right, they're just not fighting for their former allies specifically.
