3. Marvel Show Off Age Of Ultron, Ant-Man

Marvel StudiosAs we all know by this point, the big money in comic books - and the big crowds at San Diego Comic-Con - lies not in the floppy newsprint pamphlets themselves, but in those blockbuster movies that the kids love. Right now Marvel have total control over our hearts and minds (and wallets) when it comes to the big screen adaptations of their work, breaking pretty much every record in history for the amount that Avengers made at the box office. They've also done well to keep the fans happy, making the films faithful but not slavish to the source material, and steadily building a shared Cinematic Universe not unlike the comic books. Also: lots of potential for slash-fic. Their first big risk comes out this August in the form of Guardians of the Galaxy, a relatively untested property that even a lot of fanboys hadn't heard of when it was announced. They sail once again into potentially dangerous waters with next year's Ant-Man, a film that has even more to prove now that it's goofy hero and premise isn't being directed by Shaun Of The Dead/Hot Fuzz/Scott Pilgrim wunderkind Edgar Wright. Way back in 2006 Wright showed off test footage for the project, a good couple of years before Marvel had their first hit with Iron Man. With all the controversy around the director being booted from the project and his script being rewritten, the studio would do well to share some proper footage from the film to get fans back on side. What they don't need to do is convince anyone that the Avengers sequel is going to be anything less than awesome, but a victory lap would be nice regardless. With Age of Ultron well into filming at this point, we'd be very surprised if we didn't get at least some form of proper teaser trailer after last year's announcement of the film's title and cast. In fact we'd say this one was another very, very safe bet, if your local Ladbrokes happens to be managed by a total nerd.
Likelihood: High. It would make sense for Ant-Man to get some airing at the con, and it's been all but confirmed that the Avengers cast and crew will be chairing a panel, so that would make a lot of sense too.
