20 Upcoming Movie Sequels You Had NO IDEA About
13. Zombieland 3
For many years, it seemed like a sequel to hit zom-com Zombieland just wasn't going to happen, what with the schedules of Jesse Eisenberg and Emma Stone getting considerably busier following its 2009 release.
But Zombieland: Double Tap finally came out in 2019, and while not quite hitting the heights of its predecessor, it was nevertheless a respectable follow-up and solid box office success.
During the sequel's press tour, director Ruben Fleischer and the cast expressed interest in returning for a new Zombieland film every 10 years-or-so, but in recent years we'd heard little about a possible Zombieland 3.
Late last year, however, Fleischer confirmed that he was still planning to make the threequel in 2029, and that discussions are beginning to happen about it.
While it would've surprised nobody if Zombieland 3 never happened, especially with Eisenberg and Stone being so perpetually busy, it seems like the central quartet genuinely love returning to this series and are keen to make it happen.
With all the will in the world, shooting will happen sometime in 2028 for a 2029 release.
