DC Cinematic Universe: 10 Things You Need To Know

2. No More Solo Superman

That's everything that fans have to look forward to (pretty much), but there's a lot to be said about the films that don't appear on the slate. Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice is technically the follow up to Zack Snyder's first DC superhero film, but it's not Man Of Steel 2 - with the suggestion that the director would eventually get back to a solo film for his primo superhero, with Henry Cavill donning the tights once more and looking angsty around Amy Adams, who for some reason can't figure out that amazing disguise he wears for a secret identity. Except there is no such solo Supes film on that schedule, so what's going on? Maybe Snyder said everything he needed to with the first Man Of Steel. Maybe Warner Bros doesn't have much faith in the character on his own, perhaps citing the phenomenal success of that first film as a fluke. Maybe they just forgot to include a second film on the already fit-to-bursting release schedule between 2016 and 2020. Whatever the reason, it seems like a massive oversight for there to be absolutely no more solo Superman, at least for the remainder of this decade, especially when the next film with his name in the title seems to be preoccupied with introducing a zillion more other superheroes instead of the further adventures of Kal-El.
