DC Extended Universe: Ranking Every Upcoming Film By Anticipation

7. The Flash

Flash Batman Slow
Warner Bros.

Release Date: March 16, 2018

Let's face it: Since debuting back in 2014, Grant Gustin's Barry Allen has won over a lot of fans on The CW's The Flash. Odd timing meant that that series kicked off at the same time that Ezra Miller was announced as the character in the DCEU, but despite a pair of cameos in Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad, Miller's incoming full-on take on the character in Justice League still has a lot of work to do in climbing out from under the shadow of Gustin's well-regarded version of Barry.

Well aware of that, Miller has done what he can to talk up the fact that - despite his excitement for the role - he's not trying to steal Gustin's thunder, hoping that both interpretations of the character can exist harmoniously, and the footage that has been released from Justice League has revealed the two versions definitely won't be treading similar ground.

His own solo outing was set to begin filming in just a matter of weeks, but with director Rick Famuyiwa having dropped out of the project in October - just months after its previous director, Seth Grahame-Smith, did the same - it's hard not to be concerned about what's going on behind the scenes.

It's anyone's guess right now as to what will happen to the production next as a result, but hopefully things will all slip smoothly into place rather than fall apart, as a big screen adventure for the character is long overdue.
