DCEU: 21 In-Development Movies Ranked From Most To Least Likely

8. Black Adam

Deathstroke Harley Quinn
DC/WC

Chances Of It Happening: 5/10

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson was initially cast as Black Adam way back in 2014, but a solo Black Adam movie wasn't announced until January 2017.

That's because, at first, Black Adam was meant to be the main antagonist in Shazam! but factors like Johnson's star power and busy schedule resulted in his own movie being put into development, that will shoot at a later date.

Writer Adam Sztykiel is currently penning the script, with Johnson also involved in the creative process as a producer, and though Black Adam seems to be coming together, the fact that it's been three years since Johnson was first cast seems to indicate that Warner Bros doesn't know what to do with the character.

It feels like they just locked Johnson down because, well, that's a smart business decision, but creatively, they didn't have a clear plan.

Black Adam will certainly appear in the DCEU - there are rumours that he'll be in Suicide Squad 2, or even Shazam! after all - but whether a solo movie can actually fit in the DCEU is a different question altogether.
