Deadpool 2: 8 Most Memorable New Characters
2. Domino
If there's a major problem with Deadpool 2, it's that it doesn't give a lot of room to its female characters, sidelining several returning women from the first movie. The void is filled with the debut of Zazie Beetz as Domino, who almost steals the entire film. Domino's super-power is a simple one - she's preternaturally lucky - but Deadpool dismisses it as "not very cinematic" soon after they first meet her.
Nonetheless, Domino gets a spot on the X-Force team and promptly becomes an invaluable ally to Deadpool as the film's action becomes increasingly intense. Beetz is wonderful in the role, bringing an acerbic sense of humour to everything that she does, while getting her fair share of the action.
Domino is foregrounded in Deadpool 2 to the extent that, alongside Cable, she is clearly destined to be a major piece in the puzzle of the franchise going forward. Beetz is an excellent addition to the Deadpool series, fitting in with her snarky sense of humour and presenting the rare phenomenon of being a character who can go toe to toe with the protagonist when it comes to verbal battles.
