Deadpool 2: 8 Most Memorable New Characters
1. Cable
For a long time, the only thing audiences knew about Deadpool 2 was that it would feature the big screen debut of Cable. His appearance was teased in the post-credits scene of the first movie and the character is an enormous fan favourite among comic book readers. Josh Brolin, fresh from headlining another comic book franchise as Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, takes on the role - a cyborg with a metal arm who has travelled back from the future to prevent a horrible chain of events before they begin.
Brolin's performance is tough, physical and imposing in a way that suggests a po-faced alternative to Deadpool's constant quips. However, Cable gets plenty of opportunities to be funny and shows Brolin's aptitude for creative swearing, whether he's calling Deadpool a "jabbering butt-plug" or dropping a C-bomb that would be worthy of even Malcolm Tucker's admiration.
Cable is going to be one of the primary players in the Fox superhero universe in the coming years. Brolin has already confirmed that he signed a four-movie deal to portray the character and, based on the performance he delivers in Deadpool 2, he will be a great lynchpin for the future of the Deadpool and X-Force world.
