6. We Have a Ghost

With his two Happy Death Day films and Freaky, Christopher Landon proved himself one of the more amusing voices in the genre film space throughout the 2010s, and so We Have a Ghost seemed like a fine fit for his blackly comedic skill-set.

This obviously Beetlejuice-inspired romp follows a family which moves into their new home only to discover that a ghost is haunting the place.

Casting Anthony Mackie and David Harbour as homeowner and ghost respectively made this one hell of a quick sell, and it was easy to see how Landon's dark comedy vibes would do the concept justice.

But We Have a Ghost was ultimately a friggin' mess - a brutally overlong 127-minute slog that's packed with gooey sentimental melodrama and Very Online dialogue, while largely squandering the enthusiastic efforts of Mackie, Harbour, and the wider ensemble cast.

It's telling that, despite racking up a mind-boggling 124.4 million viewing hours during its first four months on Netflix, it swiftly tumbled into the Abyss of Forgotten Streaming Content.
