Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness: 10 Reasons It Sucks

1. It Strongly Suggests The MCU Is Doomed

And finally, perhaps the most dispiriting thing about Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is that it really suggests the Marvel Cinematic Universe has had its day.

Post Avengers: Infinity War, aside from Endgame, Shang-Chi and No Way Home all of the films have been either completely forgettable or underwhelming misfires. Why? Well, various reasons.

The stakes are completely gone, the films don't seem to bother with character arcs anymore, the stories are incoherent, they keep hiring directors ill-suited to the material (looking at you, Jon Watts) and there's still a stubborn refusal to take any proper risks or deviate from formula.

OK fine, the director issue definitely wasn't a problem here but all those other problems are not only present in Doctor Strange 2, but turned up to eleven.

This movie shows that the franchise is failing to learn from its mistakes and furthermore, it shows that the MCU has really become far too big for its own good and it also shows that the Multiverse narrative isn't necessarily a good idea in the future.

Well... it's a bit of a shame that seems to be the way things are going with the franchise.

Sadly, this movie strongly suggests that a once-great franchise has lost its way and you truly, truly hate to see it.
