Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness: 10 Rumours That Could Change Everything
1. The Spider-Verse
With Raimi's name automatically came the links to his Spider-Man trilogy. The director worked on all three movies featuring Tobey MaGuire's iteration of Peter Parker, and after the success of Into the Spider-Verse in 2018, and with a movie already based around the multiverse theory, it seems more likely than ever that we could see the version of the character last seen in 2007 return to the big screen.
Even if it is just for a tiny cameo, Marvel Studios have presented themselves with the perfect opportunity for MaGuire to meet Holland in the MCU. If they can even manage to get Andrew Garfield on the same page, this could one of the biggest moments in Marvel movie history.
While it would potentially be incredibly difficult to get all of the moving parts together to make this work, there is an opportunity to create a Spider-Verse movie in the MCU before the rights to the character return to Sony.
Doctor Strange 2 is currently slated to be the final movie before the announced third movie in Tom Holland's Spider-Man franchise is released, and while this may not give Marvel Studios much time to set this up as a live action Spider-Verse movie, it is easily the best opportunity the MCU has ever had, even if it means a slight delay. Marvel fans would happily make that sacrifice if it brought Tobey MaGuire back to the Marvel universe, right?
