Does “Back To The Future” Stand The Test Of Time?

Does It Hold Up, Well Does It?

Back to the Future Delorean I want to answer this as loud as humanly possibly on the Internet, YES!!!!!!!!! Sorry about that. I€™ll collect myself. Why? Because Michael J. Fox is just cool and nails it in this movie, Christopher Lloyd may never have a better role and this is unfortunate, and the Delorean is a rad car that shouldn€™t really exist. But, what makes this movie is its heart. Aside from all of the time travel, gigawatts and kissing your mom, it€™s a sweet story where the protagonist ultimately wants what€™s best. Roger Ebert in his review from 1985 said it best,
"Back to the Future" was directed by Robert ("Romancing the Stone") Zemeckis, who shows not only a fine comic touch but also some of the lighthearted humanism of a Frank Capra. The movie, in fact, resembles Capra's "It's a Wonderful Life" more than other, conventional time-travel movies. It's about a character who begins with one view of his life and reality, and is allowed, through magical intervention, to discover another."
So, Does Back To The Future stand the test of time? I think it does. I think it will for years to come if for no the reason than to be a way for high school kids to debate time travel with out ever reading Stephen Hawking. Oh and my wife thought it was fine, although the scene where Biff is taking advantage of Lorraine was not her favorite.
