5. Miriam "Miri" Linky - Zach And Miri Make A Porno

Zach And Miri is an underrated star vehicle for Banks, playing a character who decides to make a porn film with her best friend to pay off some debts. She helped turn what could have been a bad taste comedy into a surprisingly sweet film, as the lifelong friends start to realise their true feelings for each other as they work together. In the role of Miri she manages to make the character funny and adorable, but with some real human vulnerabilities too. She becomes jealous and petty when she thinks Zach has hooked up with another actress, with the resulting argument being the emotional core of the film. Banks also makes the viewer believe Miri could fall head over heels for scruffy manchild Seth Rogen, which is no mean feat in itself.
