Eurovision Song Contest: The Story Of Fire Saga Review: 4 Ups & 6 Downs

2. It's Visually Hideous

Despite clearly touting a sizable budget, Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga might be one of the most visually offputting Netflix Originals starring major Hollywood actors.

Even with Oscar-nominated cinematographer Danny Cohen shooting the film, this is a repulsive effort for the most part, with many scenes touting an ugly, overlit sitcom-style aesthetic.

Basically, many scenes don't really look like a movie, but rather a skit quickly thrown together for a YouTube channel, not to ignore some of the embarrassingly poor visual effects employed throughout - especially when compositing Ferrell and McAdams into the supposedly packed Eurovision arena.

Given the clear money that's been funnelled into this thing and the talent it's attracted, it's shocking how frequently cheap and thrown-together it looks.
