Every Arnold Schwarzenegger Movie Ranked Worst To Best
22. Batman & Robin
Although there's no denying the fact it killed Batman onscreen for almost a decade, the reputation of Joel Schumacher's Batman & Robin is way harsher than it deserves. Viewed through the lens of it being a neon-soaked update of the sixties TV show, it just about almost succeeds.
Everything that was laudable about Batman Forever is dialled up to an obnoxious degree in Batman & Robin, with Schumacher famously remarking to his cast and crew that they were there to "shoot a toy commercial". In function, that is what Batman & Robin is, but it's not without its charm. Schwarzenegger looks great as Mister Freeze - the character then only recently off the heels of his reimagining in Batman: The Animated Series' Heart of Ice - and hams it up perfectly in the absence of any focused pathos.
Ultimately not the abomination it's been made out to be, and also entirely worth it just for that Oscars 2024 bit with Danny DeVito and Michael Keaton.
