Every Batman Movie Villain - Ranked From Worst To Best

Riddle me this, riddle me that, who's the best baddie for the big bad Bat?

Batman is constantly praised for having the best rogues€™ gallery in comic book history. With the likes of the Joker, the Riddler and Catwoman (to name just a few), he€™s got a better collection of nefarious nemeses than most other superheroes combined. Indeed, the likes of Superman and The Flash can only dream of having quite this many attention-grabbing evildoers to face off against; while most superheroes only have a handful of truly impressive adversaries, Batman could comfortably fill Arkham twice over with his enviable assortment of enemies. At the movies, we€™ve already seen most of Bats€™ main antagonists brought to life in live action form. Across the the gritty realism of The Dark Knight trilogy, the gothic landscape of Tim Burton€™s films and the outright garishness of Joel Schumacher€™s efforts, we€™ve been treated to a bevy of Batman baddies over the years. But who€™s the best of the best? And who€™s the worst of the worst?

16. Bane (Batman & Robin)

Perhaps the greatest mistreating of any comic book character ever committed to the big screen, Batman & Robin€™s take on Bane was a complete catastrophe. The man who broke the Bat was reduced to an unremarkable lackey for reasons that remain unclear to this day. Wrestler Robert €˜Jeep€™ Swenson€™s version of Bane starts the film as a bodyguard to Uma Thurman€™s Poison Ivy, with his backstory €“ that of child brought up in a prison environment €“ thrown out all together, as is the character€™s renowned intelligence level. Here, instead of an intimidating baddie worthy of a central role, Bane is reimagined as an inarticulate thug who grunts and growls his way from one fight to the next. Of course, The Dark Knight Rises eventually gave us a better version, but that hasn€™t erased memories of this massive misstep.
