Every Ben Affleck Movie Ranked From Worst To Best

39. Daredevil (2003)

Ben Affleck Gone Girl Batman v Superman Pearl Harbor

Daredevil is unquestionably one of Ben Affleck's most high-profile career failures - a superhero film intended to send him surging through the box office stratosphere, and yet one which only barely turned a profit.

Daredevil is a sure emblem of early-2000s superhero cinema, the sort of goofy, embarrassed-of-itself nonsense which Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins was a welcome retort to a couple of years later.

With wonky performances from most of the cast - namely Affleck and Jennifer Garner - mediocre action sequences, VFX that looked dodgy at the time, and atrocious dialogue, Daredevil felt massively second-rate compared to the superior superhero flicks of the era.

The Director's Cut is certainly a far better film, yet for the vast majority of viewers the theatrical cut scared them off entirely.
