Every Cillian Murphy Movie Ranked Worst To Best

10. The Edge Of Love (2008)

Cillian Murphy Inception
Warner Bros

There's something about Murphy - his youthful looks, the expressive eyes that scream innocence - that makes him a draw for filmmakers making movies set at wartime, and despite the drudgery of the material, he certainly delivers in The Edge of Love.

Though his screentime in relatively small compared to co-stars Sienna Miller and Keira Knightley, Murphy's role as a traumatised, defeated soldier in this tale of infidelity (based loosely on the personal life of poet Dylan Thomas) grounds The Edge of Love even when it veers into lumbering melodrama.

Scarred and broken, Murphy has rarely overshadowed a film he's been in more, and rarely been so damn tragic on-screen.
