Rachel Carruthers - Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers

Taking a great character from Halloween 4 and killing them off barely 20 minutes into Halloween 5 was certainly a choice, and it was a choice that resulted in Rachel being fatally stabbed with a pair of scissors, and a choice that many fans are still left baffled by all these years later.

This comes after a false alarm, as police are sent to check on Rachel after Jamie Lloyd had a vision of Max the dog's death. And when the cops get to the Carruthers' house, they do a once-over and proclaim all is clear, just as Max nicely returns home after having gone for a bit of a wander.

So, for Rachel, she's put her full faith in these cops, that they'd done their job to protect and serve, and that her home was totally, totally safe. Of course, for us, the audience, we know these cops are kind of idiots, as their introduction is accompanied by some bizarre clown-type music.

Yep, Michael is still lurking around, waiting to stick a pair of scissors in Rachel and kill off one of the franchise's better characters.

Terry - Halloween Ends

Being a bully is never cool. Being the leader of a group of bullies is never cool. And being so untapped as to throw somebody off a bridge, leaving them for dead... is particularly never cool.

That was what Terry and his friends did to Corey Cunningham early on in Halloween Ends, with Terry the ringleader of these morons. So, when Corey later starts to kill each of these bullies off, there's a certain sense of satisfaction at seeing him take a blowtorch to the face of Terry, essentially burning/melting him alive.

On top of this, Terry had just, albeit unintentionally, killed Ronald, Corey's stepfather and one of the few characters truly trying to help Corey.

Oscar - Halloween (2018)

Halloween Allyson Michael Myers Oscar

Consoling Allyson after she'd just found her boyfriend Cameron kissing another girl at a Halloween party, Oscar does his best to lift Allyson's spirits as they walk home, talking up all of her great qualities and noting how she deserved better than Cameron.

All of this takes a turn when Oscar makes the mistake of trying to kiss Allyson, causing her to storm off and leave him alone in a neighbour's garden. Well, he's not really alone, for Michael Myers is lurking in the shadows, as Michael comes to the fore in a pretty darn cool sequence using outside sensor lights.

This all ends with a knife in the back for Oscar, and he's then impaled through his chin on a nearby fence post, which nicely leads to Allyson seeing Michael Myers for the very first time.
