EVERY Halloween Death RANKED By Stupidity
Laurie Strode - Halloween: Resurrection
Arguably, the most controversial death of the entire Halloween franchise, killing off Laurie Strode barely 15 minutes into Halloween: Resurrection was certainly something. Truth be told, it was actually the choice of Jamie Lee Curtis, who only agreed to return to the role for Resurrection on the basis that Laurie would be killed off.
That death takes place at Grace Andersen Sanitarium, where Laurie has been institutionalised following the events of Halloween H20. And when Michael Myers comes looking for Laurie three years after H20, she's waiting for him, getting the better of her brother after hitting him with a lamp and then luring him to a trap on the sanitarium rooftop.
Infamously, Laurie second-guesses herself when Michael grabs for his mask, playing off the mistaken identity death of a paramedic at the end of H20. Stopping her plan so that she can check that the man under the mask really is Michael Myers this time, that was Laurie's mistake, with the Shape having fooled Laurie, then stabbing her in her back before she falls to her death from that roof.
This one was dumb on so many levels, not least in why some apparent random guy in a Michael Myers outfit would bust through Laurie's cell door and attack her, and that she'd be tricked into thinking this wasn't Michael Myers. Like, who else is it going to be? It's one thing for a paramedic to be mistaken for Michael after having the classic mask put on them, their windpipe crushed, and being stuck under a tree. But the dude who turns up at the start of Resurrection clearly has evil intentions.
Jamie Lee Curtis may have gotten her wish for Laurie Strode to be killed off in this timeline, but that death was handled in a fairly stupid, frustrating way.
