Every Halloween Movie Ranked Worst To Best After Halloween Kills

6. Rob Zombie's Halloween (2007)

Halloween Kills
Dimension

Rob Zombie's two-movie stay in the Halloween franchise, made with Carpenter's blessing and the advice to "make it your own," remains the most divisive and hotly discussed chapter in the series' long history.

It's easy to see why. Zombie's first film is a complete reboot of the first film, re-imagining Michael Myers as a psychopathic child who murders his family and is sent to a psychiatric hospital for evaluation.

Zombie's decision to spend so much time exploring Myers' mental state has been met with disdain from fans, but is actually exactly why the film works so well. Not only is Myers a remorseless killer, towering and villainous, but he's also allowed to be a character for once, and the results make him far more intriguing to watch.

The film has its flaws, including its needlessly trashy dialogue and slight overindulgence in gore, but all told Rob Zombie's daring reboot is a great experiment that only ages better when compared to its sequel (see below).
