The finale to the Harry Potter series was the highest-grossing of the lot and it's not bad. Not bad at all.
This movie only actually covers the last quarter of the book, resulting in a slight lack of story, and the film makes several other mistakes too. It makes some misjudged deviations from the book and feels a bit like a factory product, but these are issues that can be found across the franchise and they don't hurt the film too much. Luckily, there are also enough effective emotional moments to allow the film to work as a narrative.
As a spectacle this really blows the roof off and the final battle is as epic as one would expect. While it still falls short of the books, the emotional farewells, gripping set-pieces and Alan Rickman's flawless performance make this the satisfying finale everyone was hoping for and one of the best films in the beloved franchise.
