Every James Bond Finale Ranked

15. The World Is Not Enough - Renard's Sumbarine

James Bond Quantum of Solace
MGM

The World is Not Enough's finale, which takes the form of a very claustrophobic and intense battle on-board a flooding submarine, is a thoroughly tense and thrilling climax - and one of the many great qualities in this criminally underrated Bond film.

It's particularly elevated by Robert Carlyle's unnerving yet intelligently subtle performance as secondary villain Renard, as well as the high stakes, strong choreography and pleasingly tight nature of this climax, which was (Once again) a nice break from the big battles that end many Bond films.

The presence of Dr Christmas Jones (Denise Richards), who is one of the all-time worst Bond Girls, lets this sequence down a bit but all in all, it's still a very enjoyable finale for the most part and one of the highlights of the whole movie.
