Every James Bond Movie Ranked Worst To Best

5. From Russia With Love (1963)

Spectre Daniel Craig
MGM

From Russia with Love has a few things boosting it to greatness, mainly the tension-riddled plot, which finds Bond coming face-to-face with Spectre agents sent to kill him, the never-better performance of Sean Connery, and the inclusion of a menacing Robert Shaw, who plays deadly Spectre assassin Red Grant.

Set mostly on a train, the film is Bond's most intense, faithful adaptation of Fleming's work, driven home by a cooler-than-ever Connery, and a whole host of colourful side characters amidst claustrophobic, well-choreographed fight scenes.

Unlike the vast majority of the older Bond films, From Russia with Love is an unlikely anomaly that actually gets better with age, becoming more enjoyable and rewarding with every watch.

Simply put, whilst Dr. No set the franchise in motion, it was with From Russia with Love that Albert Broccoli and director Terence Young outdid themselves, and cemented Bond as a character for the ages.
