Like Robert Muldoon before him, Udesky (Michael Jeter), who was on Isla Sorna as part of the team put together to find Eric Kirby (Trevor Morgan) in Jurassic Park III, was lured into a trap by a pack of Velociraptors smarter than most would give them credit for.

At the very least, Muldoon had training and an appreciation and healthy respect for the animals, as well as a weapon, whereas Udesky was more of a booking agent for the mercenaries, and was only on the island himself because one of his guys got sick and couldn't make it. Maybe he should have found someone else, or just sat this one out.
