33. Robert Muldoon - Jurassic Park

Jurassic World Rebirth Williams
Universal

Robert Muldoon was one of the only people who worked at the original Jurassic Park who realised and appreciated just how dangerous the place was. He had witnessed firsthand the gatekeeper get ripped apart by the Velociraptor, and was quite open with his thoughts that they should all be destroyed.

He was also the only one who wanted to kill the dinosaurs when people started dying. However, in the face of all of these doubts and concerns, he was still there right in the middle of the danger.

Muldoon's end came when he and Ellie followed Ray Arnold (Samuel L. Jackson), after they hadn't heard from him for some time. They were forced to leave the relative safety of the control room, and he paid the price for it. No matter how good a hunter he was, there was nothing he could have done about the Raptors. They attacked in exactly the way Alan Grant explained to the terrified child at the beginning of the film, with precision, cunning, and ruthlessness.

Ultimately, Robert Muldoon is a character that begs the question - is it stupider to be completely ignorant of a dangerous situation, or to fully appreciate the impending doom and do nothing to remove yourself from it?
