So, here's the scenario. You're trying to escape from a mansion currently housing a large number of dinosaurs, many of which were ruthless killers. You begin to hear a rumble from inside that sounds like it could be a herd of said dinosaurs heading towards you.

Would you run like hell to get to safety, or stand around like an idiot and wait to see exactly which kind of dinosaur was about to either eat or stomp you? While most would probably go with the former, the two InGen contractors who were helping Eli Mills escape the Lockwood mansion opted for the latter. 

For their lapse in judgement, one was carried off and dropped from a great height by a Pteranodon, while the other was trampled underfoot.
