EVERY Jurassic Park & World Death RANKED By Stupidity
42. Benjamin Lockwood - Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom
Throughout the first four films of the Jurassic franchise, the work of bringing the dinosaurs back from extinction was John Hammond's (Richard Attenborough) idea, and John Hammond's alone. However, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom suddenly inserted a new character into proceedings, namely John's partner, Benjamin Lockwood (James Cromwell).
It was Lockwood who put Eli Mills (Rafe Spall) in charge of his fortune, and you could argue that this puts him indirectly responsible for dinosaurs making their way over to the mainland. Had Lockwood not trusted Mills, Mills wouldn't have tried to auction the beasts in the basement of his boss' mansion.
Lockwood's death was rather understated, aside from the fact that he is the only human in the franchise killed by another human. He found out what Mills was doing, and rather than own up and face the consequences, Mills smothered Lockwood with a pillow. Putting his trust in someone like Mills was a stupid move that ultimately led to his death further down the road, but realistically, Benjamin Lockwood was just a victim of a cruel man with dollar signs in his eyes.
