EVERY Jurassic Park & World Death RANKED By Stupidity

43. Donald Gennaro - Jurassic Park

It has some stiff competition, but you could argue that Donald Gennaro's (Martin Ferrero) is the most iconic death in the history of Jurassic Park. Certainly one of the most memorable and most unique, for a number of reasons.

Gennaro was the lawyer conducting the investigation of Jurassic Park back in 1993, and was the first character to be eaten by the Tyrannosaurus Rex. As the beast happily stepped through what should have been a highly electrified fence, Gennaro sprinted from the stranded car to the toilet block, leaving Lex and Tim (Ariana Richards and Joseph Mazzello) to fend for themselves.

In terms of cowardice, leaving two young children on their own is up there with some of the most selfish acts in the franchise; however, in terms of trying to survive at all costs, it wasn't stupid. The Rex focused solely on the car, where he would have been had he not made his escape.

Gennaro would have been safe from harm in the toilet block as well, if not for the painful bad luck that the Rex just so happened to launch Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) into its walls, knocking down the entire structure and exposing him. Had that not happened, Gennaro could have hidden until the Rex had gone, but instead, he was lifted off the toilet in those gigantic jaws.
