Every Main Fast & Furious Villain Ranked From Worst To Best
7. Brixton - Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs And Shaw
While Hobbs and Shaw is easily the series' lowest point creatively, there are plenty of positives to be found in the controversial spinoff. One of the strongest elements is Idris Elba's portrayal of the supervillain Brixton, a cybernetic tyrant with the intense desire to destroy the world. Elba's charisma and ability to intimidate ensures that the film thrives whenever he's on screen, with a second act exchange with Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham being one of the best scenes in the film.
The screenplay unfortunately ensures that Brixton never feels like a complete character, with his motivations and backstory being completely unsatisfying, but Elba does enough to make those issues feel as irrelevant as they can. His strongest characteristic is how funny he is, playing the straight man amongst the bickering between Statham and Johnson flawlessly. While his action scenes are largely unimpressive by a directorial standpoint, Elba's physicality is always impressive whenever it's not drowned out by the CGI and he performs well in the final fight scene.
It is likely that Elba's performance would be ranked higher if it was within a better movie, but even here, he does more than enough to leave a positive impression.
