Every Main Fast & Furious Villain Ranked From Worst To Best

5. Jakob Toretto - F9

Fast And Furious 6 Jason Statham
Universal

The most recent villain in the series, John Cena's career best performance as Dom's brother Jakob Toretto is a new direction for him as an actor and a very interesting step for the franchise. The majority of F9 is defined by the fractures in the relationship between Dom and Jakob as young men and the residue those wounds have left with both men.

Cena's extensive wrestling experience ensures that he's capable in fight scenes and he conveys massive amounts of physical presence, but Jakob's surprising vulnerability and desperate neediness is an unexpected decision that leads to wonderful moments throughout F9's runtime. He's not the heartless killer that he could have been positioned as, instead a confused and heartbroken brother who lashes out with violence because he lacks any answers or direction.

While that might not work for every viewer, Cena's willingness to look weak and petulant is something to commend and it works for the overall production. He's not the strongest antagonist in the series because he is so defined by his relationship with Dom that it's hard to despise him, but he is one of the franchise's greatest examples of how hard it can be to embrace your family.
