Carter Verone is the perfect balance between over the top acting and genuine intimidation. The strongest mob boss in the franchise's history, Verone is effortlessly calm and collected, able to manipulate dozens of drivers without a flinch and easily threaten a prisoner with the prospect of rat based mutilation. He is a campy villain that wouldn't have been out of place on a Miami Vice episode but Cole Hauser's ability to convey status ensures that he's consistently threatening throughout.

He particularly shines alongside Eva Mendes' Monica Fuentes, where his status as a devilish playboy comes most into play. There is always the threat of violence lying underneath his charming exterior and whenever he snaps, you can feel the potential danger that Fuentes is in. While 2 Fast 2 Furious is a largely comedic and breezy installment in the franchise, Verone is one of the most well defined and compelling villains that the series has to offer.

While he's not the villain that could have ever appeared in subsequent installments, he isn't filled with any particular depth that would work in a long-term format, he is perfect for what he needs to be.
