When it comes to tragic stories in the MCU, Wanda’s is up there with Thor’s as the most heartbreaking of the lot. She lost her parents at a very young age, was experimented on by a mad scientist, lost her brother too soon, and had to watch her love die on more than one occasion, even having to kill him herself at one point.

As her story grew more and more tragic, her powers grew stronger, and with every appearance she made in the MCU, she rose the ranks to become one of the most powerful heroes in the entire franchise. This was optimized when she finally, truly evolved into the Scarlet Witch.

WandaVision, the show in which both Wanda and Elisabeth Olson herself simply shone, revealed that she had always been powered, but she needed the push of tragedy and Agatha Harkness to fully embrace her potential.

For years, Marvel Studios were unable to refer to Wanda as the Scarlet Witch, but when they made the transformation official at the conclusion of WandaVision, it was simply incredible. Everyone watching was rooting for Wanda after everything she had been through, so to finally become the most powerful version of herself, with the amazing costume to boot, was everything.
