Every MCU Dad - Ranked From Worst To Best

Yondu might not have been Quill’s father, but he definitely was his daddy.

Ranking Yondu on Guardians 2, with this touching moment with Peter, the revelation that Yondu has kept him safe as best he could, and the bittersweet funeral with Cat Stevens’ Father & Son playing, and he’d be much higher.

However, based on how he is in Guardians 1 and on Quill’s account of his childhood, he’d only be just above Ego. In between then seems like a fair spot to land him in.

He doesn’t always get enough credit for how well he’s written; despite the Guardians movies following on with no time passing, his evolution into anti hero from straight up villain is well paced, natural and earned. Bringing him closer to the Guardians and having more screen time with Peter is a big help here.

He did tread over the line of abusive in Peter’s childhood, but atones for these sins, admits them and ultimately dies for Peter.

He seems to have been a father figure to Kraglin too, and you can see how much it means to him to inherit his father’s arrow after Yondu’s funeral.
