Directed:

Iron Man 3 (2013).

In what was only his second directional outing, Hollywood screenwriter Shane Black did a fine job with Iron Man 3. Iron Man 3 is still one of the MCU's best films and this is largely thanks to Shane Black.

While the film's success rested more on his excellent screenplay than his direction, Black still proved himself a thoroughly capable director here. Black directs the film well, especially in the action sequences and the film is generally nice to look at; in particular, the aerial rescue sequence was superbly done. Also worthy of note is the scene in which Stark destroys his suits, which remains one of the most cinematically strong MCU moments to date.

Largely thanks to Black's efforts, Iron Man 3 is still the best Iron Man solo film and was an MCU film with a distinct flavor of a buddy-cop movie, meaning Black created an entertaining MCU product while also leaving his creative fingerprints all over the film.
