The MCU's second Disney Plus show is perhaps the most obvious should-have-been-a-movie the franchise has made, offering a simple tale that never justifies its runtime or stacked subplots.

These issues are easy to overlook in bulk, though, particularly when it slows down and deals with the shifting relationship of Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky (Sebastian Stan), who are both at odds with the lives the late Steve Rogers has left for them.

With gripping action and timely themes of prejudice and buried history, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier needed trimmed down and less set-ups to future things (The Thunderbolts, the Power Broker), though its central drama and vital real-world focus makes it a refreshing story to explore.
