Every MCU Movie & TV Show Ranked Worst To Best
22. Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings (2021)
As the MCU has marched on, its films have been characterised by many of the same issues, including simultaneously bloated and rushed finales, jarring CGI, and cynical fan service. Phase Four's Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is no different.
Luckily, though, it's also one of the better instalments to suffer from these flaws, thanks to its martial arts choreography, stirring mythology, and the charming central performances of stars Simu Liu, Tony Leung, and Awkwafina.
Exploring Asian culture with an effective tale of family and ancient lore, Shang-Chi is stilted by its humour and messy final showdown, but it's great to see its representation and refreshing worldbuilding enter the MCU. The quip-happy return of Ben Kingsley's Trevor Slattery is just the unexpected icing on the cake.
