Of every MCU project, Eternals is arguably the most divisive; an epic ensemble team-up directed by Oscar-winner Chloé Zhao which follows its titular team as they face a staggering internal threat and a villain far out of their reach.

Ambitious and daring, this big, twisting drama follows a whole host of heroes as they confront the implications of their powers, actions, and shifting relationships, all the while confronting the horrors around and within them.

Made with a thematic complexity sorely lacking from much of the MCU, Eternals is too busy to give all its promising characters and gutsy plot twists the depths they deserve, but the moral of its story and the performances of its cast (particularly Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, and Lauren Ridloff) make it a fun, soulful debut.
