20. Avengers: Age Of Ultron (2015)

Avengers Age Of Ultron Tony Stark
Marvel Studios

The second and weakest of the Avengers team-up movies, Age of Ultron has never been as poor as its detractors would have you believe, but it's still far from a perfect vision (sorry).

Following the team as they do battle with Stark's malevolent A.I Ultron, the ensemble tackles some lofty issues, from the societal impact of the heroes' actions to the philosophical head-butting of Stark and Captain America (Chris Evans), and does so with exciting action sequences and crucial character development.

Unfortunately, it also suffers from a monumentally overstuffed script, which includes introductions to Scarlett Witch, Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and Vision (Paul Bettany) and Bruce and Natasha's stilted romance. The action and performances sing, though; and honestly, who doesn't miss this team? Simpler times, indeed.
