18. Purging The Earth Of Mankind - Ultron (Age Of Ultron)

So much of Tony Stark's past has come back to haunt him throughout the MCU. Whether it was what his company did years ago, what his father did before he was even born, or a misguided attempt at putting a suit of armour around the world.

While Ultron's origin was quite unique, the end game of his plan was quite generic. Essentially world domination for world domination's sake, he wanted to end the world and rebuild it again in his own image. The majority of the robot's plan actually went to count for nothing.

He recruited Wanda and Pietro, only for them to ultimately fall on the side of the Avengers, and he spent much of the movie shifting pieces into place to build his new body. The vibranium from Wakanda and the stone from Loki's sceptre all went into this body, only for it to be hijacked by the Avengers and turned into Vision, the being that ultimately delivered the final blow.

For an artificially intelligent robot that could occupy thousands of bodies at once, Ultron failed at putting together a strong plan. Throughout the movie, on multiple occasions the villain changed the scope of his plan, from destroying the Avengers to destroying Earth's entire population before settling on the idea of manufacturing a meteor out of Sokovia.

Surely he could have come up with something better than lifting a country into the sky and dropping it again with the resources he had?
