Every Michael Bay Movie Ranked Worst To Best

9. Transformers: Dark Of The Moon

Bad Boys For Life
Paramount Pictures

Bay's third Transformers outing is one of his better efforts, with Dark of the Moon being a breath of fresh air after the dismal Revenge of the Fallen.

Whilst it suffers from the typical issues of a Bay picture, including poor dialogue, a too-long runtime and some seriously unimpressive performances from Shia LaBeouf and new heroine Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Dark of the Moon is a much more visually impressive installment than others in the series.

It's still fast paced and filled with enough explosions to level a city, but Dark's action sequences are much more effective than Bay's other flicks.

The main problem with the film is the plot - a touch convoluted, the actual story is quite forgettable, and stays up simply because of the supporting cast, which is filled out by John Malkovich, Frances McDormand and Josh Duhamel. The voice cast, too, is also on top form, thanks to veterans Peter Cullen and Hugo Weaving and newcomer Leonard Nimoy (in his last film role).

Visually the best in the series, Dark is an impressive technical achievement which lacks any kind of exciting plot to raise it higher on this list.

Aidan Whatman hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
