Every Michael Bay Movie Ranked Worst To Best

6. Armageddon

Bad Boys For Life
Disney

Armageddon might be Michael Bay's most insane and enjoyable popcorn flick. Completely ridiculous in terms of plot and character, this disaster epic is arguably the most fun thing the director has ever done.

Telling the story of a group of rough oil drillers who are sent into space to dig into an incoming asteroid and plant a bomb within it before it can hit Earth, Armageddon is not exactly winning any prizes for "idea of the year." But outside of the over-the-top narrative and some shaky editing, it's a rollicking good ride.

Bruce Willis, Ben Affleck and Liv Tyler were all pretty poor in their roles, but thanks to supporting turns from Steve Buscemi, Will Patton, William Fitchner and Michael Clark Duncan, as well as some emotional twists and some decent effects, the insane premise manages to have just enough moments of brilliance to keep it from falling in on itself.

In fact, outside of the editing, the film's biggest issue is its underuse of Owen Wilson.

Aidan Whatman hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
