Every Movie That Received An F CinemaScore Ranked From Worst To Best
8. In The Cut (2003)
Jane Campion's erotic thriller received a ton of press ahead of its release hyping up its sexually explicit content, and it's not terribly surprising that general audiences were upset that a film marketed as a conventional boobs 'n blood movie actually had a more cerebral tenor to it.
It's not a good film, but it is an interesting one, and Meg Ryan really puts herself through the emotional wringer here. It's the sort of grimy, unpleasant film that makes you want to shower immediately after viewing it - as it should - and though Campion smartly injects the typical premise with a refreshingly feminist sheen, it's still overly obvious and pretty tedious in places.
Despite the D.O.A. CinemaScore, it still almost doubled its mere $12 million budget and scored mixed (rather than strictly negative) reviews, so things could've gone much worse.
