Every Nick Robinson Movie Ranked From Worst To Best

9. Krystal/Drunk On Love

With the likes of Rosario Dawson, William H. Macy, Grant Gustin, Kathy Bates, William Fitchner and Robinson himself all taking part, Krystal had one of the most promising casts of any smaller film in recent memory - not-to-mention the fact that Macy was in the director's chair - and yet that seemed to doom it to failure.

A film that saw an 18-year old (Robinson) fake an alcohol addiction so that he could get close to an older ex-hooker named Krystal (Dawson), critics mauled it for the way in which it defied all forms of logic in its attempts to be funny. Are they wrong? No. The plot does ignore logic and at times the film can't seem to decide what it wants to be, but when it gets the tone right, it surprisingly nails it.

With witty dialogue and off-the-wall happenings that do genuinely force unexpected laughs out of you and some great character moments in between, Krystal (or Drunk On Love as it's known in the UK) has a ton of potential. And even though it doesn't always live up to that, it makes for a mostly-engaging watch that you often find yourself struggling to look away from (no matter how hard you try).
