Every Pixar Movie Ranked Worst To Best
18. Brave (2012)
Watching Brave almost ten years on from its release, its weaknesses are more noticeable than ever. It suffers from a problematic plot that really brings new meaning to the phrase "leave your brain at the door," and some of the humour is far too silly to be completely effective.
But underneath the plot issues, slapstick jokes and wonky tone, Brave is nonetheless Pixar's first female-led adventure, and takes a look at a mother-daughter relationship with some striking moments of real, teary-eyed heart.
Like Onward, the medieval/fantasy setting isn't utilised as well as it maybe could have been, but all told Brave is able to work with its family themes of love and acceptance alone, and deserves to be dug back up for a re-watch.
