Every Saw Movie Ending Ranked Worst To Best

6. Saw IV

The End: Rigg fails his test, gets both himself and Eric Matthews killed, and Hoffman is the second Jigsaw apprentice.

Saw IV's ending is okay. Not all of it works, but it's better than Saw III's ending.

The trap Matthews and Hoffman were in was excellent, the revelation that this movie takes place at the same time as Saw III worked, and although he proved a terrible villain later on, the twist regarding Hoffman's true nature was very effective at the time.

Unfortunately, since Rigg's entire game is so poorly conceived, nothing to do with his arc and its conclusion feels earned. It's revealed that had Rigg arrived after the timer to his game finished, Matthews would've survived; this was Jigsaw's way of trying to teach Rigg patience.

Err... how on earth could anyone have figured that out? Ridiculous.

Agent Strahm killing Saw III lead Jeff Denlon was also a mistake, since it made all that happened in Saw III feel pointless. Basically, this is a mixed bag of an ending.
