Every Screen Batman Ranked From Worst To Best

5. Will Arnett

LEGO Batman Mic
Warner Bros.

Nobody will try and say that Will Arnett's Batman is a pure adaptation, because his interpretation was very clearly designed as an antidote rather than anything really faithful. He is a product of the post-Batman Begins environment that reimagined Batman without joy, with lashings of grim grittiness and without any self-awareness, and he's a wonderful palate cleanser.

Arnett's Bat-voice is a triumph, and his hilarious petulance - imagining Bruce Wayne as an arrogant, silly man-child - is the unspoken truth of Bruce Wayne. His relationship with Alfred in particular is beautifully observed, and as a companion piece to both Bale's poe-faced angel of doom and Affleck's muscle-bound monster, he is perfection.

Thankfully, we've now got further chance to see him in his spin-off movie and 2017 can't come quick enough.
